VANUS, Inc. (VANUS) announced today that the firm was awarded a Signal Timing Contract by Collier County. VANUS will be developing new signal timings for 34 intersections located throughout the County and the City of Naples. The project also includes traffic data collection.
A major objective of the project is to develop separate peak season and off-peak season signal timing patterns for the project corridors. The separate patterns will more efficiently handle the different traffic volumes present in the winter versus the summer. Data collection will begin in December and January for the peak season analysis. The project includes the majority of the signalized intersections on US 41 from Old US 41 to Collier Boulevard, plus several on Collier Boulevard.
“Our traffic engineering department recently completed a similar project for Collier County. We developed new signal timings for approximately 50 intersections located throughout the County. The County staff was pleased with the results and selected VANUS for another project,” says Jay Calhoun, President of VANUS.
